Battle Report: Kruleboyz vs. Bonereapers

I played a matched play game of Age of Sigmar last night against a player that was having their first game. I really enjoy teaching Age of Sigmar to people and helping them explore another aspect of the hobby. Like me, my opponent started painting miniatures during lockdown as a new hobby to pass theContinue reading “Battle Report: Kruleboyz vs. Bonereapers”

Arena of Shades Nighthaunt – Wash and Base

Another day and more progress on the Nighthaunt. Now they are looking close to done. As an added bonus I managed to get quick bases done so they look even more complete: So what’s left? I just need to highlight the cloaks, bones and a few other things and pick out some detail. Just aContinue reading “Arena of Shades Nighthaunt – Wash and Base”

Arena of Shades Nighthaunt – The Ugly Phase

Oh god, what have I done?! Maybe twenty models was too much at once but this session has been an absolute SLOG. Here is where I am at: As painful as this has been there is a highlight, I kind of love how these two models from the Craventhrone Guard look. Almost like they areContinue reading “Arena of Shades Nighthaunt – The Ugly Phase”

Arena of Shades Nighthaunt – Day One

I began batch painting the Nighthaunt today. I got through the Corax white, Nighhaunt Gloom, Ghost Grey and Rhinox Hide stages for all 20 before calling it a night. Steady progress, tomorrow I’ll probably start on the metallics and other colors. Hopefully I can get the shade on but I expect that might be pushingContinue reading “Arena of Shades Nighthaunt – Day One”

Learning to use a Lightbox

The $10 lightbox I ordered arrived today and it’s about what I expected. It seems like it will do a decent job of lighting up a few minis at a time and cropping away the sides of the box in shots seems to be easy enough. Here is a small gallery of some work inContinue reading “Learning to use a Lightbox”

Arena of Shades Nighthaunt – Starting the Rest

OK, it’s about time I actually knocked a project completely off the list. Meet the next challenge: Over the next few nights I plan on painting the rest of the Arena of Shades set. The easiest way for me to do this I just to batch paint one color at a time. Because my themeContinue reading “Arena of Shades Nighthaunt – Starting the Rest”

Euthia – From Riches to Rags

I wanted to take some time today to highlight a Gamefound campaign that I was interested that has somewhat catastrophically collapsed. I thought it was an interesting look at the current state of crowdfunded board games and some of the issues current crowdfunding culture. The Gamfound campaign in question is Euthia. I’ve been keeping anContinue reading “Euthia – From Riches to Rags”

Hearthguard Berzerkers – Getting Started

Another quick post today, this is a project that I completed a test model for a couple of months ago but have yet to start completely: This is another army that I do not normally get but I essentially got the models for nothing after buying “Fury of the Deep” for my Idoneth Deepkin. IContinue reading “Hearthguard Berzerkers – Getting Started”

Has the ship sailed?

Back in 2019 I rediscovered Kickstarter with Bloodborne: The Board Game. I had just purchased Gloomhaven and was amazed by what had been achieved by a crowd funded game. I was hungry for more and wanted to get in early on the next big thing. After dropping about $500 on the actual game components (IContinue reading “Has the ship sailed?”
